WHAT A PITY YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND:  Toni Basil has cleared the air and confirmed, sadly, that her hit song "Mickey" is not about The Monkees' Micky Dolenz, nor are the lines "So come on and give it to me / Any way you can / Any way you want to do it / I'll take it like a man" a reference to any particular sexual position or practice.

Up next: so what is the thing Meat Loaf would not do, even for love?

I can't be the only one who as a kid thought the song was CLEARLY about Mickey Mouse, right?

  2. There are exactly four things that Meatloaf won't do, and one of them is that he'll never stop dreaming of you every night of his life, no way.

I was a huge fan of Racey (who sang the original version of 'Mickey' called 'Kitty') when I lived in Australia from 1978-1980.  Their Smash & Grab album was pure fun.  I believe I still own the actual album - yes, vinyl.  Sad since I haven't had a turntable for years...

she can only comment about what she was thinking when she wrote the song.  what it's "about" is not up to her.

  5. If you actually listen to the entirety of "I'd Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That)", toward the end you find what he won't do:

"After a while you'll forget everything,
It was a brief interlude, and a midsummer night's fling,
And you'll see that it's time to move on.

    I won't do that! / I won't do that!

I know the territory - I've been around,
It'll all turn to dust and we'll all fall down,
Sooner or later you'll be screwing around.

    I won't do that! / I won't do that!"

Meat Loaf was my first concert.

I'll go with "I won't talk about Fight Club."
