O.CO COLISEUM, YOU'RE OFF THE HOOK:  There cannot be a worse name for a home stadium/ballpark/arena in American professional sports than Sacramento's newly rechristened Sleep Train Arena, is there?

The Warriors used to play at the Cow Palace and the Astros had an embarrassing season at Enron Field. And a bunch of embarrassing seasons elsewhere.

  2. I keep wanting to read that as "Sleep Train Apnea."

Do you guys have Sleep Train ("You're Ticket to a Better Night's Sleep") out there? It's a pretty strong brand out here. Not surprised they went for this.

We do not. It is CA-only.

One hopes at least one of the promotion nights will be "Dress in Your PJs" and get a free whatever.

My brain mostly has a problem with it because of similar sounds in Train and Arena. I kind of want to meld the words. Sleep Tra-rena.

  8. So they're going to be the Sacramento Mattress Kings now?

Well, Power Balance Pavilion wasn't much better. Mattresses are better than the healing powers of a magnet in a piece of plastic.

Hey, at least the fact that the exit/turn off is "Arena Blvd" will once again make sense!

They've all sucked. What's the difference?

  11. Jobing.com arena. It's pronounced "jobbing." And it's spelled "jobing." And it's called "jobbing" in a professional sports arena.

It's just NorCal, I think. When we moved up here, I started shouting, at the commercials, "ALLLL ABOOOOOOOOOARD FOR RELAXATION!" It's like "Shotgun Blast Mattress" or "Car Alarm Mattress" for relaxation-themed failure.
