WIGS IN A BOX: Vulture helpfully chronicles the series of awful wigs that we've seen thus far on The Americans, which has been a darn interesting mashup of Mad Men (the periodness and the issues of interpersonal relationships in the age of deception) and Homeland (the spy stuff) thus far.

There really needs to be a scene where they show where all these wigs are stored. Or where they drop by the local wig store, and the owner hails them as friends. Or a flashback where they are learning to put on wigs. SOMETHING.

I love The Americans so, so, so, so, so very much. (Which won't be news if you've seen me tweet about it.) I haven't been this in love with a show this quickly (since the terrific pilot, really) since Breaking Bad five years ago. It's so good that it reveals Homeland to be completely fraudulent (emotional and narrative) bulls#!t. Well, Homeland did a good enough job of that on its own, in the second half of season two (which was RIDICULOUS for all the wrong reasons); The Americans makes Homeland irrelevant.
